COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANTS PROGRAM
In past year's, Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton Area has distributed funds to groups and organizations that demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of women and girls.
For the club year ending June 30, 2016, we awarded five (5) community service grants to the following organizations:
Scarlet Road - Aftercare Program to support sexually exploited and abused clients and aid them in helping clients get back on their feet and take the next steps in life
Kitsap Sexual Assault Center - Play Therapy Room for children and teens who have been sexually abused
Our GEMS (Girls Empowered Through Mentoring and Service) - for general service needs
Meals on Wheels Kitsap - Lunch Cooler Program for low-income senior women to safely receive healthy and nutritious meals through the home-delivered meals program for medically home-bound senior clients
BASIC, Inc. - Teen Challenge Program providing mentoring and support to 25 teen girls and 15 older adults in public housing communities
For the club year ending June 30, 2015, we awarded five (5) community service grants to the following organizations:
YWCA of Kitsap County - Domestic Violence Parenting Program
Our GEMS (Girls Empowered Through Mentoring and Service)
BASIC, Inc.- Teen Challenge Program
Catholic Community Services - Safe Living in Kitsap
Kitsap Food Backpacks 4 Kids
