SUPPORT Our Soroptimist Club

Since 1944, Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton Area has been improving the lives of women and girls in our local community and throughout the world. Our programs bring about fundamental change for women through economic empowerment, ending violence, and advancing gender equity. There are a number of ways to support our efforts:

Join Us by Becoming a Member
Our members come from all walks of life. We are a diverse group of women of all ages, professions, cultural backgrounds, and ethnicities who share a common goal -- to make our communities and the world a better place for other women and girls. We invite and encourage you to join us. Visit our Membership page to learn more.

Volunteer
Throughout the year, we host a number of events and participate in several community service projects and are always in need of volunteer support. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us to be placed on our call list and a member of our board will be in touch with you. High school and college students wishing to fulfill their community service requirement for credit are encouraged to contact us as well.

Fundraising
During the year, we host several events and undertake projects aimed at raising funds so our club may continue to support scholarships, awards and other Soroptimist projects that help women and girls in our community become their best. Past fundraising activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Annual Dinner Auction - We hosted a Hawaiian themed event, "Tropical Hawaiian Nights", bringing the spirit of Aloha to Kitsap County. It was a wonderful night of music, dance, an island style buffet and a silent auction. In doing so, we raised nearly $20,000 to help fund our "Live Your Dream" Education and Training Awards, "Break Free Kitsap", our anti-human trafficking initiative, our newly created Women Helping Women program, and so much more -- all to benefit women and girls in our community. If not for the support of such a caring community, we would not have been able to pull it off.
  • Sold Platinum Dining Cards to support club operating costs.
  • Annual Participation in Kitsap Great Give - a day (24-hours) of online giving, raising $2,000-$3,000 community support annually.
  • Small Fundraisers and Charitable Gifts - Bunco, Fat Tuesday Parade of Service, and Comedy Nights
  • Happy Bucks - conducted at regularly held program and membership meetings to raise operating funds. Our members offer monetary donations (usually $1 to $2) to share a happy moment in their life or in the lives of their friends or family.

Donate
In addition to member dues and our fundraising efforts, we rely on contributions from our members, friends, and the general public to help fund vital programs that improve the quality of life for women and girls -- locally and throughout the world. To offer monetary support, you may click on the PayPal "Donate" button below or download a donation form to mail with your tax-deductible contribution.
